Although Android is commonly referred to as an operating system, it can be more accurately described as a software stack. This stack includes the operating system, communication features and many applications. Google bought the initial creators of the software and the Android software stack us now synonymous with the company. This operating system is said to be the largest selling platform for mobile phones.
